Matt the NTKBF event on Texoma will be on 10/4 actually. It's going to be a "Red River Classic" again with us fishing against the Oklahoma boys sort of like the North/South tourneys we've done against the Austin guys... and there will be a striper component to the tourney so hopefully the linesider experts will want to participate... We'll have some details out soon...

Thanks Tom, couldn't remember the exact date. It's going to be a blast though, can't wait!

BTW, this was from a short trip on Monday morning - it happened.......and on purpose. lol

I'm a little late to the posting party and the excitement may have warn off a bit. I had to leave the next morning for the coaching convention in San Antonio. All I could talk about was the great day on Texoma the whole drive down. Managed a Texoma slam of my own. Thanks again to Roger for organizing such a great trip. I had a great time meeting everyone and catching some great fish! Enjoy the pics.

Started the morning with a little one, but it quickly got better.


I caught 2 others this size, but by that point, I wasn't wasting anymore time taking pictures of them.

The striper bite started to slow down about this time and I was surprised by this guy.

At the edge of the marina I hooked up and thought I had a monster, too bad, just this drum.

First smallmouth in a long time.

And rounded out the slam with a little large mouth.

Hooked into a couple of huge gar too, but none of them wanted to have a picture taken. Mean looking fish I'll tell you.
I thought I was going to stay for the evening, but the boat traffic was just a little too much. Those huge cabin cruisers kept the wakes coming pretty consistently, so I didn't want to head back to the islands for the evening. I'm looking forward to getting back out there.

First post for me here but I'm jealous of all the great fish and turn out last weekend! Is anyone planning on heading back this Saturday morning? I'd love to go but I'm not familiar with Texoma.

I'm going to head that way next weekend. I'm trying to finish up a cpl projects so I'll have more time to fish. If you can't hook up this weekend let me know. I'll fish with you next weekend.

I just loaded up the kayak to head up tomorrow morning. I'm just going to follow the plan that was laid out for the last trip and see what happens. Hoping to catch my first striper.
