Really surprised that no one can give me some feedback of graphs from my Lowrance sonar on the Lowrance sonar thread.
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

I would help you if I could but I've never used that model and I don't have a clue what the green means. It's been asked before and nobody knew the answer then either.

I bought a HDS-8 Combo on the clearance deal Lowrance is running and love it. I fish Texoma a lot and it isn't on their Insight Pro lake list. It seems like every mud hole in Oklahoma and Texas is on that list so I can't believe big T isn't! Anybody know first hand?
My built in maps has Texoma on it with 5' contours. I'm after 1', which would mean it's a HD lake on the v14 Pro product. I want to use the Insight Genesis program to upgrade areas I like to fish. I'm not going to map all of Lake T however!
I'd sure apprecioate it if someone let me know. You'd just have to zoom way out and move the curser over to Texoma and then zoom in and see if you get 1' countours...

Can you guys help me discern these images on my Elite 5? This is my first time ever with a fish finder and my only knowledge about them is from reading these threads and watching Youtube vids. Also the color pallette seems unatural to me on Lowrance. Yellow is hard return red is soft. It seems more natural the other way around. Also feel free to give any advice on settings, etc... #1. This one is obvious even to me that there are 4 fish (3 big ones???) but why is one mostly green and the other yellow and red? Also is it normal to get surface clutter all the way down to 40 ft? #2. The only thing I think I'm sure of here is that big arch right to the left of the green blob is a big fish??? What does all the other stuff mean? Clutter? Bait fish everywhere? What does the green mean? #3. Are those trees? Even though not connected to the bottom? What does the brown bottom with a lot of green on top mean? Hard bottom with lots of vegetation? No expert on that unit but.. You're in the bottom tracking pallet, meaning anything brown is supposed to represent bottom red yellow green is supposed to be softer returns with green being the harder of the bunch. Lots of clutter assuming you have the correct transducer selected in the unit (check if unsure before anything else) look at your surface clarity and sensitivity settings. If surface is set to off I would try low and I would also try bumping the sensitivity down to around 60-80% whats your ping speed in pic 2 and 3? Also can try 200 KHZ instead of 83 if that doesn't clear it up you will lose some coverage but have more detail. It does look like grass in those pics but will that lake clear enough to support matted grass at 40+ feet? Has the lake level just come up recently ?

You don't mention a budget so I'm assuming you can spend what you want. IF I were to buy a new boat there is no question that I would go with Lowrance 12 Touch both bow and console! Hook them together with Ethernet AND NMEA 2000, get the Point 1 antenna and a MinnKota Fortrex trolling motor. Actually that is exactly what I have now except I saved money going with the 9 Touches instead of the 12's but, wish I had the 12's! And as long as we are spending your money, I'd put two 12' power poles on it for shallow brush piles and shooting docks. I'm pretty sure I could find something else to spend your money on too!

I just purchased an HDS-10 plan on adding an hds-7 to bow later. What is the recommendation on batteries? Should I buy a battery specifically for the HDS' or upgrade my main battery to run the boat and accessories?

I have a 7X and last few time out, the Water Temp has been reading in the 30 degree range, thought maybe it was on Celcius, but that is not the case. I have had the unit about 4 months and just started this all of a sudden. Any thoughts? everything else is working fine as far as i know, just the water temp. I have it running to Main battery and not the Trolling Motor batteries.

I'm curious what the problem was??? I had an issues downloading the latest update for the HDS-10. Every time I clicked on the download link, I'd get a 404 Not Found error. The issue was that my VPN server was blocking the download for some reason...

DCB1977, some of the older Lowrance units would read 32 degrees if there is a loose or bad connection. The elite 7's use the blue connectors that twist so that normally doesn't happen. Check the connectors first.
