Rain kicked us off today. Capt said the Sandies were up for over an hour at 830. I would have stayed but we had to go to Bass Pro Shop to turn in a fish.

Started the morning of with my clients, trying to put little Nick, on a largemouth before we hit the Sandies. Went to a spot that holds good fish and started throwing a Bass Pro Shop Lazor Eye ( sexy shad color )

Nicks dad picked up a 2-3 lber on his second cast. After he released his fish he said sorry to Nick, as he had an upset look on his face. After 20 casts, I realized the rod was a bit to heavy for the little one, so we switched over to 4 lb line and a 7 ft med action Carbonlite spinning rod so he could launch it.

First cast was two ft up on dry land due to he was using a heavier rod and when he chunk the lure, it flew out of control in the rocks. We went and got it and I asked Nick what the biggest fish he has caught was? He said a small 2 lb channel cat. So I told him today we will beat a two lb fish definetly.

About his 15 th cast, Nick said he was snagged. I looked up and yet again, another snag. Except for the fact the snag started moving. I yelled reel fast! He reeled down and bent the rod and the fish realized he was now hooked and shot up out of the air trying to throw the hook back at us. The fish was under the boat, around the boat, one more jump and under the boat again. Finally after ten mins ( 4 lb line) the fish found his new home in the net.

Certified 5.48 lbs

Rain kicked us off the lake at 745 am.

East Fork Point

Has an old pond with boulders around it. Stand around that and the Sandies will sometimes show here. The is a road bed that comes right up to the rocks submerged and heads out towards the island. It's a mini fish highway. Ground is kinda sandy due to the swim beach.

Little Ridge Park point

The fish also pop here in the mornings and evenings. Sometimes they will hold just off shore within casting distance in about 8 to 12 foot. Especially when we get a thermocline.

Glasshouse Cove point

You can only fish this with A boat or kayak. It is private property. The fish will pop up here in the mornings in the evening and sometimes hold just off the point in the deeper water 8-15 foot

Baptist Encampment

Sometimes the fish pop up on this point as well. Hit and miss on this unless you have a good South wind.

Avalon Park

Very sandy beach. Won't sink very much at all here.
Mornings and evenings they will boil here and also there are two submerged boat ramps that they will sit on during the day. Very hard to know where the road bed actually is unless you have side scan.

The Island

The Sandbass have been holding just off this point about 50 feet in 12 to 15 foot of water sometimes 18 to 20. They usually boil here every morning as well.

South Lavonia

The fish usually hold just off the beach in 10 to 12 foot of water during the day. Every morning and every evening they usually pop up here. Best spot would probably be the point near the dam. Standing there you will have 8 to 9 foot of water to your right and then toward the damn, it's about 15 to 20. The drops rapidly towards the dam. This will hold around that point which extends hundred and 50 yards west.

North Lavonia

Fish will pop up around this area every morning and evening. South of the boat ramp about 100 yards is a submerged boat ramp which they will sit on during the day. It is a little bit obvious where it is due to all the rubble on the bank which extends out into the water a little more than the rest of the bank. That goes out to 9 feet deep and drops to 12. South of the submerged boat ramp, is a Rockgarden about 100 yards south. Holds all kinds of species of fish.

Hybrid Point

A very big long flat. Sandy's will usually push shot up on top of this flat and boil for a couple hours once they start here.

All these areas hold fish and it's up to the fish how close to the bank they will get for you. Just have to be lucky they pop up near you. Eventually they will pattern out and you can go every morning at the same time and they will pop up like clockwork same time everyday weather permitting. Like tomorrow morning, I know exactly where they will pop up in the morning. North Lavonia 7:15 AM. If they don't pop up there, they will be at South Lavonia and push all the way to North Lavonia due to the wind.

I have $60 seats open for white bass Monday morning and Tuesday morning.

Call text email to fill slots. If you are by yourself and just want to fish, hop on board!

Glad you got the boy's bass certified, or at least I hope you did! That ear to ear smile tells it all. WTG Carey and Nick.

Today the fish were little sporadic on their boils. They literally pop up for about 15 to 30 seconds and then vanish again. The name pop up about 20 to 50 yards away and do it again for 30 seconds. We would pop off 5 to 6 per boil and then have to go chase down another boil. Slowly starting to pick them off the bottom finally when they are resting.

90% of the time they'd ignore our slabs. And we were using some of the smallest slabs that I have at a quarter ounce. They would pretty much ignore the slob but they would hit Jigs ( Thump Buddy's) the same size as the above baby Shad. Match the hatch.

Rooster tails work great if u can cast to them. 4 lb line works best for that.

4 seats open tomorrow at $60 a person. Texting is the fastest way to book a trip.

Otherwise email/p.m./or call me.

My white bass trips are on hold till further notice. To much bait and no action. Top water is sparatic and to short to make a trip out of it. It's hard to even catch 10 somedays. Somedays we limit but that's like seeing an alien right now. So till they start feeding on the bottom or top water starts going good again, I will resume the Sandbass trips. I have now moved onto Black Bass/ Largemouth Bass. And I'm am rippin some lips! Even put my Jr. angler on the new Jr. lake Lavon Record Large Mouth Bass!

7.01

Same fish diff day at 7.01
