Never keep keep big fish. Staked her out on 25 ft. line where I caught her. went home and got my 25 gallon tank and give her a while to recoup. Put her in the 25 gallon tank and drove to my private lake and staked her out in the shade in deep water and let her recoup for a while and went and got two sets of digital scales. Took her out weighed her and took one picture and let her go. I always let big fish go but this lake is only 5 miles from my house,so I have no problem keeping them alive from there. I'm hoping to get some off spring from her. I caught a 11 pound and 1 oz from the same lake in June and she is in my lake also. Just an FYI its not legal to transport fish from one lake to another here in Texas, not sure about Okie. And to advertise it. Not a good idea. Private lake I believe you can do that or in your pond.

You can put fish in your private lake from other lakes in Texas and Oklahoma as long as they are not on the list of that is forbidden to introduce . You are not allowed to transport fish to public lakes.

Pretty sure that's right.....well at least was right. How's that work now that the zebra mussel law is in affect? You aren't supposed to transport lake water....so would you have to have your own tank/aquarium with water from your house? Live fish, including personally caught live bait, cannot be transported in a vessel in water that comes from the water body where they were caught.

It is Illegal to transport fish from public lake to another public lake. Public to private or private to private is only legal transportation

I have a 25 gallon tank I transport fish in. I fill it up at my lake and go back to get the fish and it is only 5 miles from my house. This works well because I'm so close to the lake. I live about 6 miles from Hugo lake also and it works well there. Lakes farther away does not work this time of year. At the lake I caught these bass,I have a friend that lives on the lake. I can leave my kayak and fish there with him and go get my tank. I only kept these for my lake hoping for some good offspring . Bass like this that I catch farther away,I try to take a picture and release them back.
