Follow up: Don't try to show them your wife's license, that don't work either. Mine was in my tackle box, wife's in my billfold, tackle box on my boat at the house.

JE, it sounds like ole bush hog is a really honest and law abiding guy...and it also seems the GW had the skills necessary to understand the situation and made a good judgement call to boot...  to both...
