lowrance vs hummingbird If people today had to learn the lakes with flashers as we did forty-five years ago eighty-five percent of the wannabes going sixty miles per hour with a four mile per hour brain would not be on the lakes and complaining about electronics they cannot comprehend!!!!!!!!

You mean like 45 years ago when 40 mph was top speed and flashers where new and hard to understand. The yester year wanabes? It's good that things don't always stay the same. As for the Topic. The only thing I have found about my Lowrance Elite7, is the refresh rate is very slow compared to my Humminbird.

I run both - 2 lowrance and 1 HB. I like the mapping better on the Lowrance. On the imaging, I might give a slight edge to the HB. No problems with any of the units.

I want to hear about negative experiences only for both Lowrance and Hummingbird. (As it relates to operation and customer service.) May be an odd thing to ask for, but ultimately I'm surveying to see which brand has the fewest issues and which business has the better customer support. If this topic has been discussed before, please provide a link to the information.
Thanks for your feedback! Asking for objective views is tricky... few own both to objectively compare, most like whichever they own, both will offer pretty well the same service and support I reckon, and people with both like both form what I find and offer up even less differences than people who only own one and prefer whatever they own. It is like that with most of the bass world though... boats, outboards, electronics, shallow water anchors... people tend to prefer and back whatever they picked (for whatever reasons they picked it) and really its pretty well all the same stuff or it wouldn't have any market presence if one dominated the other in a large way. Personally I am not savy enough to benefit fully from such high tech witchcraft, so money no object, I'd have a hummingbird touch screen so I can just point and grunt and let it work the magic. I'd rather have something with the technology to make me look like I know what the heck I'm doing, than something with more technology. That's how I buy most gadgets...
