Stroll an XD10 back and forth through the area, if it's not too stumpy.

1oz weight and a treble, pull forwards of where you dropped and fan cast across the area dragging bottom, how I got mine back last sunday. that said it was against all odds and so lucky I bought a lotto ticket... guess I used all theluck up on the rod and all those fish I caught though coz I didn't win anything, but I'm fine with that given all the fish and the $200+ worth of rod I got back!

65lbs braid, A rig with big treble hooks and a 1oz weight. Use it like a rake on the bottom. It worked for me good luck

Need to try the weight and treble thing. Easter weekend I lost my favorite rig in a pond at my family's ranch when a big catfish pulled it over the rail and into the water. Ok rod but the reel was an Ambassadeur 5000 I've had since 1982. While the cat was stealing my rig I was catching the biggest bass to ever come out of the pond.

I just chalk it up to arrogance. Also, I have reeled in a few that others have lost. I call it my trading post. It's too bad the ones I pulled out weren't as good as the ones I left.

Lost one during tourney on Belton, 30ft. down. Had some buddys join me after weigh in - drug heavy spoons and wha-lah - one of my buddys came up with it. It's a crapshoot, but always worth trying.

FYI, I carry a drag made of the inside a roll of barbwire, 4 prongs.weights are 3 large nuts string is trotline size nylon. its been successful every time it has been used. My granddad made it years ago . its stiff but will give if it hangs up.
