I say pigs meaning 7lb is about the biggest ive caught. lots of 5 and 6 in there also. WHAT! I was convinced the alpha female in this lake was 3lbs tops. I've never seen anything above 1.5 pulled out of there, but I've only been 3 times. If you've caught 7 pounders out of this awesome/fun little lake, I might have to come on Saturday...

I don't have a hawg trough, but I have the Gator Grip Golden rule up to 22 inches. Is that acceptable?

If you guys can make this you will not be disappointed, Terry is a great guy and this lake is really neat. Suggest you bring something that you can fish around lily pads and grass, this lake has a lot of both. But it also has a lot of fish.
Unfortunately I can not make this one but would have been fun to get out and fish with everyone.

Thanks Mr. Palovik, hopefully we will catch you on the next one.
Yes, you can use your golden rule. The main thing here is making sure the length measurements are viewable with a camera. With todays cameras that shouldn't be a problem. If you do use your cell phone make sure you have a way to get the pictures to me to judge.
Yes I will be set up at the boat ramp by check in time.
Here are the official rules as promised:
Kayak Classic Tournament Rules -Saturday Morning Series
-Check-in starting at 5:15AM, First Cast at 6:15AM, scorecards have to be back on the table by 12:01 or angler will not be allowed to enter fish.
-$20 dollar entry fee per person including big bass, 100% payback, multiple places paid depending on participation
-Only Black Bass will be scored (Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted Bass/ Guadalupe Bass)
-Artificial lures only, no live, dead or cut bait allowed. Pork baits are allowed
-Human-powered kayaks, float tubes or canoes allowed. Other human powered vessels are allowed with prior permission from tournament director. No electric, solar or gas-powered motors allowed.
-We realize cell phones are a part of our lives and you may use them to communicate with friends/family etc. however using them to gain an advantage in fishing during the event will not be allowed
-CPR (Catch, Photo, Release) only, identifier in pic, in kayak...
-Participants are required to stay in and fish from their kayak or other vessel only (no wade or bank fishing) you may leave your vessel for emergencies, stretch/rest sessions or to answer natures call. Just no fishing once you are out of your kayak. -Digital Cameras and cell phones for the pictures, if your camera uses a proprietary memory card, bring your connection wire
-Out-of-bounds areas: Any area of a lake or river that is cordoned off as off-limits to kayaks/boats/watercraft and is clearly marked as such is also off limits for fishing during the tourney.
-Scoring: Cumulative length of your longest 5 fish, each fish has to be over 14 inches. I will assign a unique identifier the morning of the event. The identifier has to be in every picture for scoring or the photo will NOT COUNT. You can write the identifier on the back of you hand or use the back of your scorecard and include that in the pic. Every time you catch a fish, you take a picture of it on an acceptable measuring stick. Each pic has the identifier in it, CLEARLY VISIBLE, or it doesn't count. Each fish will be rounded down to the nearest inch. If possible, try and leave only one pic of each fish you want us to score on your card/phone...
-Score Cards: You will be given a scorecard the morning of the event. This is to help speed up the judging process so we dont have to look through everybodys memory cards to determine overall lengths, only the anglers in contention. Scorecards are due back on the table at 12:01PM. Late cards will not be submitted, period. Dont hesitate to ask for the official time to sync your watch to. I advise being a few minutes early, especially if you have a competitive score card filled out.
-Scorecard format: Scorecards keep track of your name, number and length of each fish with a total of overall inches. In the likely event where you catch more than 5 keepers, circle your best 5 keeper fish on your scorecard and total them up for judging.
-Photography Rules: FISH SHOULD BE FACING LEFT, BOTTOM LIP AGAINST THE BUMP BOARD, TAIL NOT PINCHED OR CURLED, WITH NOTHING OBSTRUCTING THE MOUTH OR TAIL OF THE FISH!!! Your unique identifier will be clearly visibile either on the back of your hand or on the back of your score card in each pic. Failure to adhere to this could disqualify the fish.
- Once monies are collected, there will be no refunds for any reason. If inclement weather is excepted or arrives unexpectedly it is up to the individual angler to decide to stay and fish or head back for safety. Anglers may suspend fishing to ride out storms in vehicles, shelters/pavilions, islands, etc. and continue when safer conditions arrive. If severe weather is predicted for the event day, the event will be rescheduled with 3 days notice at tournament directors discretion.
- Ties: In the event of a tie in any category (overall stringer length or big bass) money will be split evenly between those two places that tied.

-Human-powered kayaks, float tubes or canoes allowed. That's great news. I was under the impression it was kayaks only. Ive been turned away from every event ive tried to fish from my tube. 1 question. Being that I fish from a tube I don't put in at the ramp out there, I put in at a clearing in the weeds towards the dam. Is it ok if I don't use the ramp for takeoff?

You will still need to check in and have your score card on the table by the cut off time. Looking forward to it!
