It kind of reminds me of the long and lean engine compartment of the Verado's, only on steroids.

I'm an evinrude guy. And I love the new technology and would definitely get an etec on any new boat. But that's the ugliest motor I've ever seen.

I have an ETEC and love it. Very easy on fuel and oil. I like the looks of the new motor. Will be able to match the color of your boat. Ok , so what are the boats of the future going to look like?

I see some lower unit problems for Evinrude in the near future.

BRP makes industry leading jet engines and has been cutting edge in the ATV business for a long time. Like anything it takes a little bit to grow on you and looks to me like the bar has been raised. Only time will tell. I know yamaha was a little quick with the SHO!

Here's some more to look at, on a boat. I thought this engine looked horrible at first but after seeing the specs, and these closeups, it's kind of growing on me. They even have one for Okie Poke. !

If you read they came up with solution for the extra power for the lower unit, lets face it the pro xs is proven but old and the sho has the pop factor and evinrude well I don't know any one running one but like to see advancement in out board motors but only time will tell and whats the price?
