Rat-l-traps are good. Sassy shad are good. Slabs will sometimes get you through the smaller fish on top and down to the bigger fish that are underneath the surface schooling fish. Sometimes just about anything with a hook on it works well also.

Ive caught schooling sandies on these just to see if I could..square bill crank, pop r, buzzbait, spinner bait, t rig worm, swim bait, a bare red hook and a lure fashioned from bottle caps..when they're fired up will hit most anything

Try cutting off at least one hook per set of treble hooks or u will spend ketching time removing hooks. Just a suggestion.

ANYTHING SHINY! Literally will bite anything shiny moving thru the water when schooling in the summer.
I usually burn a small Humdinger thru with a small crappie jig about 14 " up the line. But like I said they will bite almost anything shiny.
I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!
