Looking for feedback on these units found out at work we get a good discount on garmin products. Sure don't hear much about them. Looking for any info I can get.

I don't know much about Garmin for fishing. A few Tour pros are using them. I want to take a look though as big Garmin fan for other applications. I also want to check out Ray Marine. Randy Haynes, recognized as top electronics and ledge fisherman is using Ray Marine this year.

Well all I can find online is some videos in Australia, and a couple Scott Martin sponsor plugs. The discount I can get would make them cheaper than a bird or lowrance equivalent. I just want to make sure I'll be happy with their side imaging the chirp technology seams like a cool concept, also not sure on their map capabilities for north texas lakes.

You will be the "Fresh Water Texas Guinea Pig" for Garmin! Think about that.

Lowrance has a new accessory for chirp technology. Thinking about adding it. I would think any device with chirp would be good.

Difficult to find a non biased review or fair comparison chart. With the dizzying amount of options with today's combo units, be careful to select the particular model that comes preloaded with the US lakes that you want. Here's a good video of real time chirp and downvu/sidevu by a nonbiased consumer. Just looking at this video, the sidevu looks great. Here's another pretty good unbiased youtube video

I've had the Down Vu since November and love it. I'll get a hold of a guy that has SideVu and have him post some pics. Extremely easy to use and the screen shots are awesome.

Billy I'm not even sure I can afford one for myself. I gotta send a email through work with product numbers to see what discount I get it's not a standard discount across the board, hopefully it's as much as my boss claims,
Looking at the lake maps they have seams like most of the lakes I fish are covered not many options on the texoma map but they have not updated it lately so maybe they are working on that one,
