I bought a Slayer Propel the other day and thought I would start a thread as I start rigging her out.
Here is the stock kayak. I really like the copperhead color.

Ok, so for my first mod.... It's a simple one. The bungee anchor needs to be moved back a couple inches so my Yak Attack Visi-Carbon Pro can be mounted in place.

Second Mod..... Just as simple as the first. The bungie anchor in the middle need to be spun 180 degrees. Also the bungee needs to be taken out of the anchor and around the anchor. This way placing in a milk cart/ ice chest can easily be done. Ok...... As I do this I'm going to make a couple suggestions to Native. This is a awesome kayak no doubt, but I always look for improvements. These anchors need a screwdriver to move back and forth. I would like to see a different fastener that would not require a tool to move.

UPDATE: I spoke to Native Watercraft and was told that the new thumbscrews for the battery boxes will fit the bungee anchors. I tried them and they fit (and look great).

Yes, it's a piece of GT175 mounted to the tank well with 1-1/2" screwballs in the track.

Ok I've been wanting to try this for a long time. I like having the rods behind me but with three rods mounted on the back side of the milk crate they have always been a pretty good reach. Well I've wanted to move the rods closer to my seat so I did. I mounted a piece of GT175 Gear Trac in the tank well and mounted the 5 rod holders to that.

I can lay them down when not in use.

Here is in the up position.

Kicked back with rods in the holders.

Here's a picture of them at the lake being used. I have only gotten to use them once so far, but the rods are so much easier to reach now.

Shaun,

Nice looking rig!

Do you have any trouble reaching around the rods to access your milk crate (or whatever else is in the back area)?

Like the rod holders. That trailer looks awesome.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

First thing I thought was the tankwell is blocked with your rod holders rigged like that. I'm sure you considered that, though. I rigged 4 holders on each side of my tankwell using PVC so i could still reach into my tankwell.

Regarding Lusca's comment...how do you reach into your tank well? Great looking kayak. A real beauty.

With the rods mounted on the kayak instead of a crate I don't need a crate back there. My tackle goes in plano boxes under my seat and in the front hatch. The only thing I have behind the rods is my small ice chest. It's easy to reach around the rods to inside the chest for drinks and snacks.
