So I ordered a 10' Power Pole Blade, and am trying to order the correct jackplate mounting bracket. My jackplate (on a 99' Skeeter zx202C) does not have the brand/manufacturer anywhere on it, and appears to only have two holes for mounting. How do I go about ordering the correct bracket?

That is a slide master jack plate. Here is the bracket you want. The bracket PP website directly suggests will stick that 10' model up crazy high. You can mount this bracket about 6" lower. http://www.power-pole.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=PK-S-7-5-S-BLK&type=4&eq=&desc=Side-Mount-to-Jack-Plate-7%22-Setback%2c-5%22-Rise%2c-Starboard-Side%2c-Black-&key=it

Thanks JBellZX202. I am still a bit confused on the setback/rise options available on all the different adapter plates. I want to be able to anchor as deep as possible w/ my 10' blade, why wouldn't I go with an adapter plate with only a 2" rise?

You don't want the ball of that pole hanging to low off the back of the boat to catch water at any speeds off plane.
I initially had the same thought as you. In the mounting instruction I think they call out no less than 4 inches above the bottom of the boat in relation to where it's mounted.

If there too low when you try to get on plane they'll throw water at the motor.

if you haved a ten foot then you need the new brackets with the stiffner bracket. dont get a 7-5 with a ten footer. those are the old style. the new style are much more compact and have a greater angle to allow them to be stronger and not sit 7 inches back. the one for a skeeter with a sled master is a 2-2 something. just call power pole and they will tell you the same thig i just did. 813-689-9932

i have a different bracket on my Skeeter ( 2005 ZX 225 ). I would assume that JL Marine would recommend that same as mine. PK-S-N2-6- P - BLK ( P is for Port side )

Yes that is the one they recommended JFDawson. How deep of water are you able to hold your boat in with that setup?

mine is a 8ft Blade. To be honest.... 7 foot is about as deep as I can go. Because of the "sponson" sticking out, I have my bracket mounted about 2 inches above, so I can't lower it without damaging fiberglass. Here's a rear view:

Thanks a bunch jfdawson, that cleared it up for me. I am going to order that same bracket. So for my final question, how hard is the install to do yourself? I have already dropped 2 grand on the pole and don't want to spend more for an install. I am mainly concerned with backing out the bolts on the jack plate and supporting the engine, without it moving. What is the best/safest way to do this?

The bracket install is easy. You basically remove the outside plate, and replace it with the bracket. I did one bolt at a time so nothing would "fall on the ground" :p I re-rigged the blue/black hydraulic lines to run through the "middle of the bracket hole vs. the outside hole. the hardest part is figuring out where to mount the pump and how the lines are going to flow so there's no crimped lines. I watched this video and did exactly as Jared Linter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYurwNULHVMIf you want to ask me question, just PM me your phone # and I'll be happy to answer anything. It's not too hard to install PS. I'd also recommend you get a Toggle Switch to kill the power when not in use. Here's the one I ordered: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DUUL9W/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its easy enough to not worry about it. I refused to drill any holes back there so I pushed mine through the rigging tube. Your motor shouldnt fall to the ground after removing on side of the bolts. Think about moving the motor. Both sides of those are completely loose.

It definitely is a Slidemaster. Made in Terrell, Texas. Send me PM and I will get you the info on the bracket needed. We have installed 3.

I originally had the same bracket as jfdawson. I forgot to lower the pole backing into my carport and ended up bending the bracket as it was forced under the carport!!! I then found the bracket with 7" offset and prefer it much better personally. The pole sets back farther which allows more co angler space. I also prefer it because I was able to mount it 5-6" lower due to being back behind the sponson. Just my preference though. Lots of Skeeter guys have both styles of brackets.

You may want to look into this bracket if the 10 footers require a braced bracket. This will allow it to mount lower than the bracket PP recommends.

install costs around $300. its total BS. I have put on 6 of them and it never takes me more than 45minutes to put on one. do it your self. the instructions are simple. make sure you have a cut off switch to the pump or you will kill your batteries.
