Hope their employees don't work off of comission might starve

There are no dick's sporting goods around here and I have never seen one. What is their store like? similar to academy?

I once saw a rod and reel combo in GM for $75. It looked familiar so I walked across the street to Wal-Mart and found the same rod and reel combo for $24.

But where else am I going to get my Walleye and Ice Fishing gear?

That place pisses me off so bad every time i go in. The ONLY reason I go in the one in Lewisville is because they have 4.5" roboworms that I can't find anywhere close and because they have 13 Fishing rods. If you really want to get mad, go look at the line. $24 for a 150yd spool of regular power pro braid. I asked a guy in the fishing section if that was mis-priced and he said 'no'. I asked him if he know I could buy it at the Academy 2 blocks away for $13 and he said 'yup'. I wanted to rip the shelves down last time I was in there.

We ran there so we could buy some lures for my groomsmen flower things, I knew it was more expensive but it was on the way and one more thing off the list, getting married in three weeks everything is hectic

They are building store in Lake Worth but won't get any of my money.

wow 100% hate for Gander Mountain, I don't care much for them either although they do have pistol grip rods in stock when no one else does. Their gun prices are thru the roof, although I do like to browse there before I buy elsewhere.

It should come to no surprise that GM isn't popular with the bass fishing crowd as they are more of a specialty sporting goods store and harder to find items. The less expensive fresh water equipment wouldn't be high on their priority list of sale items and I wouldn't even consider going to them for bass equipment or baits. Go browsing in the high dollar offshore section of the store or the 8-15 k rifles and shotguns on display and see how fast one of their sales people try and assist/tackle you. Ironically enough I bought a Cannon gun safe from them several years ago that was not only hard to find but was cheaper than most of the other places I had found. The beauty part of it was they were willing to throw in a free delivery in on the deal which would have cost me an additional $250 or so to handle the 1100 lb monster.

Yes, but they dont push as much in house product like Academy with the h20 line. They really are not great, but they always have grandebass and Academy does not. It is my grandebass store I guess.

Just a matter of time before they bite the dust!

Was gonna head over to the new store in Arlington, not so sure I'm going to waste my time now...

We got one in Austin, and the fishing department is more of an afterthought, their main focus is guns which is very apparent. I will say I am addicted to their pretzels though. I use to go into the one near 1960 outside of Houston, and would occasionally find ridiculous deals (mistakes they made on pricing) and they would always honor them.
