Gander mountain no longer honors any rod manufacturer warranty unless you buy a extra protection plan through gander mountain.....even if the warranty says lifetime over the counter guarantee and you have the receipt and paper work

I have yet to shop Gander due to high prices!

Not really sure why they are in business anymore. The college station store is always empty. The academy next to it blows it away.

I went in there once. I didn't see anything I wanted in their rediculously limited assortment. Seemed most of the store was for hunting and camping. Walmart has a far better selection of fishing tackle.

I've wondered this same thing. There's never anyone in there! I swore off GM a good while ago. The way they organize their stores hurts my head. There's no way to just run in there and buy something. You never know where it'll be not will the employees.

Prices are high for sure. Don't know how they stay in business.

They never have a clerk to help you look at the stuff behind glass. I've gone in their stores more than once to purchase a big dollar item and nobody would come and open the cases and assist me. After walking around and looking at other stuff and still no help I would head for the door. When one of the workers would ask me " Did you find what you were looking for " I would simply say yes now I will go find somewhere they are willing to sell it to me. I agree that it's amazing that they still have the doors open and I don't plan on darkening their doors ever again.

best bargain i found there last nite when i went and checked it out were autographs given by Todd faircloth, super cool guy and wally "Mr Crappie" Marshall..

I never worry about GM prices because I stay familiar with the deals around Mesquite and GM has a guaranteed price match . Guaranteed so tell them they are 200 dollars higher than ???? and then make them call them and verify your statement. Works for me.

There is a GM across town I have not been to. I have a 2 Academys and 2 Dicks Sporting goods closer. Bass Pro is same distance also.
