Hey KB & thanks!
The last few scans I used Humviewer & it don't show as much detail as a regular scan but gives the scan in a different light...

I'm still trying figure my HB 1198 out. I've had it a year now. Identifying fish is much harder than I thought it would be.
It sure looks to me like are fish in setexfisher's pics. My question is how do you know they are not crappie? Water temp is too cold for them to be up shallow spawning right?

Thank you Lord for the gifts in my life

Where do you see fish? All I see are returns from branches. In the one deep water picture I see maybe 2 or 3. But usually crappie are going to be handing around when there is a bunch of baitfish around. A tree usually doesn't look like a tree when your actually going to be catching fish. It's full on aquarium of [censored] bundled up in the brush. The difference of a brush pile between winter time and late spring/summer is completely different, just a big giant blob of baitfish and fish around it. Those screenshots are baron and still look like the actual brush itself which = little to no fish.

Now those pictures look like you should catch some fish on. Lots of fish in areas of that brush. Sometimes fish show and they just don't bite, depends on time or day, presentation etc. etc. usually time of day for me, I don't do so hot after 2pm they usually seem to shut down.

As for the sonar picture I wasn't really commenting on that, I was just commenting on the down scan's. The sonar definitely looks like a school of fish. could be brush since it's off the bottom, but the sensitivity is really low so it's not solid enough to really read it.

Yeap I've caught a few from there...
DI & SI can be tricky as far a showing fish & if you have your 2D sensitivity set to high it'll give false readings also...

Silentkilla - Awesome pictures! I haven't had time to get the boat out lately, but that should change starting next week. I'll make sure I set aside some time to scout for BP's and other structure... ill make sure I post the images. Thanks for sharing those pics,

Tim
