Did anyone get out to the hole today? I was contemplating trying again this weekend. After last weekend, I fear that the spawn is done. I only got a handful of resident males.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't fished for catfish in a while. Might just give it a try. Thoughts on the best place to target shad in the creek?

Water at the hole was great this morning. Got half my crappie limit in a few hours and then left. Good times....

Yakked up through there yesterday...only saw two anglers along the way and they were packing to leave when we paddled up around noon. Easter Sunday and threatening rain kept folks away, I guess. Picked up a trash bag full of stuff off the gravel bar there, suppose a few folks forgot their leftovers. Had to paddle quick to beat the thunderstorms back in. Almost made it.

We caught some whites, some crappie, and a couple of nice channel cats jigging. Didn't fish the confluence for long, though. We caught all our fish before we got there.

I was driving home from Grapevine Lake on 377 and saw the bike park parking lot blocked off by police cars & a few red citizens patrol cars. All had their lights flashing inside the parking lot. Did anybody else see this & know what happened?

Chad it was nice meeting you out there today. You are as just as nice of a guy as you seem to be in your posts. I hope you did better than us after you left, we only caught 1 more. I am pretty sure yhe run is over out there and the green trash fisherman were all over the closer I got to the lake.

Ren,

I saw that on my way home from the GTG and was wondering the same thing ... did you ever hear anything about what was going on?

Unfortunately no haven't heard anything. Might have been some kinda criminal activity. I didn't see any EMT trucks or fire/ambulance trucks which would indicate someone being injured. But still would like to know what happened though.

I think the police were using the bike park on Saturday as a staging area to work the race traffic. Texas motor speedway was
hosting the NASCAR race that night. They were already there at
2 p.m. when I drove past.

I was out there Saturday night about 6pm and they were gone. Did finally see that the wardens got their boat running again yesterday about 3pm but they didnt even stop to check me... Kinda concerned by that cause they could have boated by a bunch of
People illegally fishing, or keeping illegal catches, etc. and I would like them to weed the s-heads outta there...

I suppose checking levels IS part of their job... But I don't know.. I was white-trashin it up shirtless, screaming obscenities at my cast net for pullin up tree-bass instead of shad. Lol I'm just glad they got the boat fixed so they can at least have a presence back in the creek.
