Anyone fishing this weekend in Austin?

Work has me down in a bad way. I got to get out of the house.

How about tomorrow morning? Are you on foot?

River, lake?

I don't care too much either way. Just need some time on the water.

Tomorrow morning would work for me. I have a kayak. All this carp talk kinda had me thinking about that but perch-jerking would even work. Maybe a place with both options since carping is iffy on the catching. I do need to be done by around noon though.

I'm in NW Austin.

I'm in NW Austin as well. How about the San Gabriel, unless you have any ideas? San Gabriel should be a place with a lot of variety. It is a bit of a drive though.

Well, someone forgot to tell the river carp spawn was over...

The sunfish were hungry though. Caught a handful of small bass. They seemed to be some kind of hybridized smallmouth? I'd have to look and see what's supposed to be there. Picked up a pretty good largemouth too. Maybe Preast has the picture.

Here is Preast with a small guy:

Bryan's was a solid bass and especially for the spot it was caught. Very cool. Just a little bigger than my catch, by about 3lbs. wink Water was super clear and the carp were only concentrating on themselves.

But really nice outing. Thanks for getting me out and into the kayak.

Nice fish Bryan!

John 5:24 Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

Hey Christian! Thanks, how's it going?

Have you been out much lately?

Fyi, I'm probably going to try again tomorrow if anyone wants to join. Hopefully the carp are done with the spawn this time...
