So my son is at his school learning his job for the marine corp. He will be finished in about two months and will get to come home for a month before he ships off to Japan for a year. I've only been to Fork a few times and had a few questions. First off, would Fork be a good lake to take him to in the summer. I have a guide there that I have used before, so I'm certain that he can get us on the fish, but if there is a better place that we could go to for the summer bite, with big fish, I'd consider that. Now keep in mind that I live in the dfw area and I'm on a budget. That being said, Falcon is too far and too expensive. Second, does anyone know a cheap and decent place to stay on Fork. Not super picky, just don't want to come home with bed bugs, if you get what I mean. Thanks in advance for any advice. smile

Fork is one of the best summertime lakes in Texas for big schools of BIG FISH.

Iwould definetely come to fork and i would definetly hire one of the following guides who can show you a thing or two about deep water structure fishing. In no certain order.

Mark Pack
Jason Hoffman
James Caldemeyer
Lance Vick

Lake Fork Marina offers a TFF discount and they have a very good restaurant. A lot of the good guides go out from there.
