I've changed the purge valve on the tank and the vent solenoid under the hood and then cleared the code with my scanner. 3 days later the SES light came back on and is throwing the same P0446. Is it possible the line between the 2 is clogged and can I use my air compressor and blow a little air through it?

Did you install the updated vent solenoid (the one in the rear)? Its a little kit that relocates the vent itself. Ive also ran across the connector at the solenoid being bad. With out a scanner that can do bi-directional controls of system, its all a shot in the dark.

Post the year/make/model and ill tell which wire at the solenoid to ground so you can at least tell if it's working.

At the vent solenoid, check for 12v on the orange wire with the key on. If you've got power on that wire, backprobe theother wire (white) to ground and listen for an audible click from the solenoid. If you hear it click, its probably working. check the hose between it and the Charcoal canister for dirt. Id also remov the canister and see if alot of dirt/dust comes out of it. If there is dirt in the canister, replace it. A clogged vent, canister, or line between them can cause this code. Id highly reccomend getting the updated vent kit from GM. Part # 19207762.

Also, with the key on, wiggle and move the connector and if it clicks you need a new pigtail connector. There is a possibility you could have a faulty Fuel Tank Pressure sensor, but 95% of the time an AC Delco vent/solenoid kit cures that code.

(4)Rollover Valve/Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) Sensor What you got was the "range" seen by the computer is something which usually or should not ever happen. The (Fuel sensor) is seeing it as if you were to have 30 gallons (full) in a 20 gallon gas tank, impossible. The fuel sensor is telling the computer there were 30 gallons in the tank or (minus 10 gallons) in the tank. Impossible situation! The fuel sensor is bad.

I have the same truck and it happened to mine. It had about 90,000 miles on it. I replaced the canister and solenoid below the gas cap. When you go to the dealer the relocation part was expensive. They don't sell the exact replacement part. They only sell the relocation part. The suburban is the exact same part and about $30.00 if I remember correctly. So put the suburban part in and if it goes out replace it again and still cheaper than relocating it.
