About 10 pm saw some lights appear on the bank of our catch and release pond. After fishing about 30 more minutes working the bank to them I am assuming they saw me and packed up shop. Don't know how many fish I saved but I had a good night, over 30 bass most were only a pound though.

What they are doing is wrong by all means... but they may have been doing you a favor. Culling is one way to produce larger bass and keep the population at a healthy level. Do I agree that people should take this into their own hands... NO. But sometimes there's good that can come from this. I've been trying to convince a city ran pond that they need to cull for a while now and they just shrug their shoulders at me. There's only a handful of bass that are over 2 pounds but there are a ton that at or under 1 pound. Sure it's fun to catch a bunch of bass, but it would better if the quality of the fish were a little better as well.

Umm and you saw them putting fish on a stringer? I fish my HOA pond at night a lot. Does that mean I am poaching?

Need to do some photo shopping first to bring out the thug in you. The 'Thumb' don't poach but he does catch fish. When we going buddy?

Then report it to whoever runs the pond. They need to know about this activity. I agree that it's wrong. I've seen it work out once or twice to the benefit of the ecosystem...But it's still few and far between.

Not cool, plenty of public water to fish, stay off private property unless invited.
Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

It is not private property if. Texas park and wildlife patrol that site as I was told about ponds in Allen There are certain communities that they do not patrol and those communities why fish there when people are rude anyways but if I pay for my fishing license every year and TPWD. Patrols that park im fishing at. Home owners have no right to chase you off
Know the law and know it Well!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I'm missing something here. You were fishing the pond, you saw some lights on the other side, while you were working your way around to them, they left? Is this your pond or a community pond?

Fishing at night does not mean poaching. You were night fishing too. Did you see them kept the fish? Without clear evidence we can't accuse someone doing something illegal. Maybe they were ready to go when you were getting near them. I do night fishing at community pond occasionally and that does not constitute an illegal activity rather keeping fish or not. Just my two cents.

Local ponds are great make-out spots too you know! Lot's of good memories made pond side...

No there were three or four fisherman who went scampering off to their two vehicles (unless they were switch hitters). If you are not doing anything wrong then no worries. I enjoy talking to fellow fisherman and don't mind sharing my techniques if they are on the up and up. Thought it was unusual they spent so much time to set up and then only fished for less then 30 minutes. Just have to put two and two together. Doesn't take a rocket scientist, just simple logic.

People can't even respect what is not their's. That is why I am so cynical at times.
