The Ray Hubbard Bass Club held our annual Open Tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard on Saturday March 22nd. We had a great turnout of 41 boats come out and fish with us. Fishing was pretty good for some, not so much for others but that seems to be the pattern everywhere in 2014 where old man winter is slow to leave our area. Continuing on their recent tear on Ray Hubbard, the father son team of Shawn and Alec Castonguay won this one with a great 5 bass limit for 25.01 pounds which included big bass of the tournament, a 7.95 pig! RHBC would like to say a special thanks to President David Simmons, and Tournament Directors David Taylor and Matt Jackson for making sure things ran as smoothly as they did. Also a huge thank you to Chris Tilton for the donation of a Delco Voyager Cranking Battery that was given away as a prize along with some Ford hats. Unfortunately, we had some camera issues and we only have a couple pictures to show from that day, but here they are.
First up, here are the full results
Doug Rener and Andy Medina got third place with 5 for 18.35 and included second big bass with a 7.57. Here's Doug with their two best.
As mentioned, Shawn and Alec Castonguay continued their hot streak on Ray Hubbard with 5 for 25.01.
Thanks to everyone who came out and fished with us. If you were a non member that came out and liked what you saw, come out to our next meeting on Thursday April 10th at BPS Garland and talk to us about becoming a member! See everyone there and at Ray Roberts on Saturday April 12th!
