Todays report: didn't go.
But, I caught 18 slab crappie. 13-15 inchers on Lake Blah Blah. 1st time I have taken the boat out since September. Crappie are shallow now. 1-7 ft.
Game Warden Report:
Jack called m yesterday while he was fishing for sandies. He said he had cast netters netting Sand Bass. So I told him follow them and get a license plate number. They saw that Jack was watching them and took off with the sandies and booked it to the truck. Jack followed and actually had to catch up with them in his car. He finally caught up to them and read me the plate number and make of vehicle. In the mean time I was texting the warden exactly what was going on min to min. After Jack got the plate number he broke off the chase and went back to fishing. The Game Warden texted me this: "FYI I was able to track down those guys at their apartment building in Dallas and issue Citation. Let your buddy know (Jack) good job on getting plate number and all the other info."
Good job Jack. I bet they never go back. Outstanding!

Got to post this. I haven't pm'ed Carey about it, but I am really grateful. I had a buddy at Creek RX2 on Saturday, and he was having a tough time catching anything much less a sandie. He's struggling, and apparently Carey had been watching him, so he strolls up to my buddy Carlos and asks to see his gear. Immediately, he tells him that the line is too heavy(it was), the lure too big(it was) and then proceeds to give him pointers on how to be successful. On top of that, he offers Carlos the polarized glasses so he can see the literally hundreds of sandies right in front of him. Carlos has eye problems and sunglasses make it worse. Anyway Carey didn't have to do any of that, but he did. He even gave Carlos one of the lures he had been using that day to catch fish. As soon as Carlos tied it on, he caught a nice keeper on the first cast! Admittedly, Carlos is not that experienced an angler, so any catch gets him stoked!
Carey does stuff like this all the time but doesn't get, nor does he seek, the props, for this side of him, so I am gonna give him the props and kudos for helping out a stranger.
Thanks buddy!

I hate to even post this because I want to be able to book future trips with Carey but as you guys know I fish with Matt at Tawakoni, Chris Carey at Texoma and now Carey on the creeks. I went out fishing with him for the first time and it was AWESOME! The pressure was rising and he said it was slow but I caught all the fish I wanted plus some.

I was catching fish im my lake but wanted to go somewhere different and sure glad I did and also caught my biggest crappie to date. Carey if your listening I would like to go for the Crappie again sometime!
