I saw no mention of this event on the forum; (probably missed it). But, here is the schedule of events. There will be a little lying and exaggerational demonstrations in little huddles all over the area Saturday, which might prove more entertaining than the speakers. Course we'll have the fly tying and casting at the usual place. Lots of trout stocked in the ponds. It'l probably rain and be a miserable day, as it is usually-p-

The lying and exaggerating are top-notch. World class actually. I cannot recommend it enough. Why it reminds of the time I....

The lying and exaggerating are not on the official schedule. Kinda like the secret menu at MacDonalds

So which one of you two is over the lyin' and which one over the exaggeratin'? smile

I'll be in my usual spot, ruining beginning fly tiers so that someone else can fix them later. See y'all there!

Wait! McDonalds has a secret menu?

Oh, never mind. I still refuse to eat there.

In spite of the rain and drizzle we had a great turn out (550 paid participants).
The casting folks taught close to 80 folks how to cast, the fly tying group about the same number, all the presenters that I spoke with were very pleased with the attendance they had. I spoke to a huge number of folks under my tent in the pouring rain. We're calling it a success!!!

It was a fun day! Thanks to everyone that came out and an even bigger thanks to everyone that helped.

As mentioned, the casting classes were full all day long. Even the session in the rain was full. I think we could have filled up more classes if we'd had them. Thank you to those that attended them.

As for the fly box shown above, over half of the flies are gone. It was a busy day.

The total attendance was lower this year, but it seemed like participation in the classes was up.

The low point of the day was probably the spey casting seminar. The participants had the misfortune of hearing me. And when I've been drafted into talking about two handed casting, you know the options were slim. The scheduled speaker was ill and unable to attend. Hey, at least it was inside while it was raining. smile

The high point was having your battery die completely after eating with several friends following the show and having one of them drive you down to Wal-Mart for a replacement. Having friends on hand to help beats being alone on the side of the road any day! smile

I guess no one caught my conservation rant? A good thing perhaps. Drought on.
