I went to proctor today and paddled all over and never caught a fish. I went back to the ramp and there were five guys catching some fish there. They were fishing with very small jigs. I had been fishing with 1/8 jigs. Just wondering what everyone else was using? ( size ). I did tie on a 1/16 oz fle fly and caught seven or eight small ones. Let me know what you think.

1/32 oz.

Slide a 1/4 to 3/8 oz. egg sinker on your line first, then tie on your jig.
Slide the egg sinker up about 8 inches and put a small split shot below egg sinker to peg it into place.

That's how I caught them today in 30ft. of water!

I'm always in a good mood when I'm fishing.

1/32, 1/16, 1/48, 1/64 deadly! Colder the water, the smaller the jig.

I use 1/16 only and have caught as small as 5 inches and as large as 14 inches! They go down slow which is what the crappie are looking for, slow presentation, usually the fall. The lighter jigs will fall even slower if you want to try but 1/16 is usually good all around.

I snickered when i read that. Got 2 , 2lb. Crappie Sunday , fishing for hybrids, 1oz head and 6" fluke.

Its tuff to wait on a 1/32 jig to sink 25ft.

I was out there this evening and the only people catching fish were using 1/32 oz jigs.
