Hi i am planning on fishing the trinity river (near tcu) but am having a hard time deciding on what i should use for this time of the year.....????? I want to catch large mouth from the bank. there is over hanging trees on the other side but that is not accessible unless you cast far and that would probably scare the fish... any tips would help...

i fish, not cause i want to... because i love to...

I used to fish it with tube baits, theres a drainage pipe coming out of the golf course, its a pretty good spot.

I've had a lot better luck in University Park than over by TCU. I know over in those trees that you're talking about its less than a foot deep(I've been eyeballing that spot since my freshman year...). If you want, me and one of our guys from our fishing club can meet up sometime and see if we can snag a few fish. We all fish the trinity a lot. Its really an under appreciated place for largemouth!

My buddy hit them hot and heavy in that stretch a few weeks ago before the ice from his yak. Had several 5's and 4's. Id like to see a pic of this supposed DD Ive been fishing the Trinity for years and biggest Ive pulled out is a 6.

And as far as catching them from the bank in that stretch good luck. They are holding close to cover in the deeper water that is hard to cast to from the bank. Also its about 3-4ft deep average on the side with the trees. It gets shallower the closer you get to that golf course drainage area. Been on it with yak/depthfinder several times.
