I fished Lake Belton this Monday from 10:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. and had only 2 bites (had been slay'in fish for past 2 weeks). Got home and pulled up provided weather link in TarponFlys thread. Sure enough, the barometric pressure fell consistently each hour I was on the water. I am now a B/P "Believer".

So on every lake fish will do this or just some lakes? And your saying some crappie will go deep n some will go to the creeks? What if the only creek on the lake is shallow at tho mouth and around five foot all the way down threw the middle?

What if the only creek on the lake is shallow at tho mouth and around five foot all the way down threw the middle? I've been fishing denton creek the past month and its started to pick up a lot lately fishing crappie. The part I fish at is only about 5-6 feet deep in the holes and I've been catching limits. From my limited experience it doesn't have to be deep.

As long as there is 4 plus ft at the mouth, the crappie will make it in if the shad even go up the creek u are trying to fish. Pressure affects fish 15 ft and shallower I have noted over the years.

Have entered 29.60 and 30.40 into my memory bank. That video of shad in the creek is habit forming. Have you seen big fish charge into a school of shad in clear water? That would be way cool.

Picked one up at Wmart today for $15. The best feature is the learning algorithm. Basically, after 15days of recording data, it will predict air pressure/temperature trends. There are some websites that predict barometric pressure changes, but this has the advantage of portability for on site pressure readings. [img:center] [/img]
