I have never fished Sabine Pass or Sabine Lake, but have been told that trout, redfish and flounder fishing has been good of late. I also know that with the full moon the tides can be a bit crazy. Anyone willing to give a saltwater novice some pointers as to how I would be able to catch some fish to eat?

Birds should be working in the lake now... gulls and terns over structure like wells, big reefs closer to causeway, spoil humps, drop offs, and out from bayou mouths.

Birds over a plain soft mud bottom could be anything so if you are after trout be in an area where there is more oyster or at least a little scattered oyster.

Soft plastic with 1/8th oz to 3/16th. Tidal Surge, Chickenboy, all good. If the water is off color go with a darker color, if its clear then pearl or chart.

Check out our DVD series on http://www.troutsupport.com quite a few testimonials have been received from fishermen on Sabine about them. Testimonials on site and internet.

Any ideas on how and which live bait would be working? I am looking to keep a live bait rod in the water and an artificial setup in my hand.
