Hey guys,
I am thinking about heading out to the creek tomorrow. Are snakes still out this time of year? I am assuming I'll be relatively safe if I am smart, but I want to make sure it won't be Spring and Summer-like snake activity.

They are still out. Slow in the morning, but after a while sunning they are ready for business.

Knowing the difference tween a Cottonmouth and one of the many water snake variants in the state helps alot.
Most Texas venomous start hitting the dens after the first sub 50*F cool spell.

Rule of thumb. Always be alert while bank fishing! Stay safe.

a good pair of snake boots will last ya for years as long as you don't put them away wet and let them rot. And they are a wise investment in your piece of mind.
