I realize they all catch fish and I will use just about any technique to get it done but I gotta admit if you see me throwing a weightless soft plastic, a hard jerkbait, or a true lightweight drop shot you can bet things went horribly wrong and I have no other choice. grin

I'm fine with anything honestly as long as I don't have to throw a hard jerk bait. I'd rather pack it up if I've thrown everything else.

drop shot. I know it catches fish. But for some reason only the little bitty ones are what I catch .

Live bait and buzz bait--I worry that all the noise from the buzz bait spooks some good fish. I'll use a buzz bait, but only after trying other topwaters.

Cranks for me. I can throw plastics and jigs for hours without a bite and never blink an eye. I can't throw cranks more than 10 minutes without a bite before its going down. I know they catch good fish, as I have won tournaments on them, but for me, about 90 percent of the bites just feel like a lucky reaction bite. When I catch a fish, I try to think about what made that fish bite, and try to repeat it, but rarely does it emerge into a pattern. Its like just 1 random fish at a time.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Carolina rig.

I actually have not thrown it in years, if they wont eat a jig or a Texas rig then i will go shallow.

Carolina rig for me, I just don't have any confidence in throwing it!

I'd rather fish corn for carp than drop shot.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I hate fishing docks and punching mats. Would rather get kicked in the knee.
