Headed to Broken Bow the 11th- 13th of October and I'm looking for any advice anyone has on that lake. Never been up there and from what I've heard can be quite different. Thanks

Broken Bow: September 22. Bass good on crankbaits, Alabama rigs and spinnerbaits in the river, good on Carolina-rigged white flukes and Alabama rigs on walls and schooling fish and good on topwater spooks and poppers early morning. Crappie good on spoons and jigs in deeper water around structure. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

go as far north as you can...a good GPS will get you into the river and crankbaits worked best for us a few weeks ago

I was there in June and that is one beautiful lake!! I fished all over the place there and had good luck around the islands on the south end with wackyrigged worms and rattle traps. I can tell you that I had heck at first due to the lake being clear, very deep in places and tons of rock structure. Enjoy your trip!!

Thanks!! I will post when we get back on how it goes. Prolly won't do a whole lot of fishing because the wife gets bored with it but I'm going to do some.

Call Beaver's Bend Fly Shop to see if the river will be stocked that week. If it is then I'd say fish the river below the lake for trout.

When in doubt, set the hook.

Just to report on my trip...it was kinda drizzly weather that sat and the wife didnt really enjoy being out there. Stayed out about 4 hours or so, caught to little ones on crankbaits in 2 totally different parts of the lake. Found a bunch of spots up in the river on a flat. Would love to go back to that lake and really spend some time on it.

I used guide Bryce Archer ((870)582-4561,a couple of weeks ago, good guide knows lake. We caught about 30 LM and spots in 1/2 day. We cut trip short because of rain. Went out next day on our own, didn't do as well but caught several. We fished points on the river.
