This is probably a dumb question , but when should I start looking for sandies in the rivers I don't have a boat and only fish off the bank just want to make sure I don't miss it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

We have caught them as early as New Years Day on the Sabine.

There has to be a river for a sandbass run. Me thinks there spawning on main lake points next year unless it come a gully washer. The good part is Mid Feb thru the end of march.

SandBass have been caught in the Angelina above Rayburn at Thanksgiving. Of course everything has to be right, water temps, water flow, air temps, etc.
But the good run is usually mid-Jan thru mid-April.
As stated above, the rivers need a good flow of water and that's going to take several good rainy spells.
