What ramp are they launching out of? They launch at the SJRA ramp by the dam. You cant get there. The take off each morning is from the Waterfront Marina off 105 near Sam's Boat. Take off is 8am. They usually start getting there about 6:30. Its a good place for them to have it. Your right next to -all the boats and anglers.

Ok I have never been on the lake and was going to launch at lakeview marina. Just wanted to make sure that would be ok.

Went to launch this morning, the first time I have had the opportunity and enjoyed seeing all the anglers. Amazing how you can talk to them and how positively they promote the sport right up to launch.
One question, as you walk down the line you can see the different baits they have rigged for the day, is that for show or do they use those bait? For example saw lots of blue back chartreuse crank baits, I fish Conroe but those never work for me.

Chartreuse/blue back is the real deal. I bought 2 Livingston 14-20 depth in chart/blue while at TTBC. My last 10 come on 6XD In the color.

Chartreuse anything is a staple on Conroe... Is for me anyway.

I agree with chartreuse, I like watermelon with chartreuse tail on soft plastics. I do have success with crank baits that are chartreuse and black back, never had much success with blue back, guess that is why they are the pros.

FYI, Keith Combs is still leading. The live leader board is supposed to be off today, but came up for a few minutes. It's off again. Keith has 4 (7-12) and Bobby Lane has 4 good ones for 15 lb so far today to move to second. I've been staying next to Mr. Lane at the motel and we have had some good conversations at night.
As of about 45 minutes ago, Combs 55, B Lane 43-8, Powroznik 41-8, Thrift 38-8, KVD 37-0, Zaldain 36-0.
It's going to take a great day for someone to overtake Combs, IMO.

I was out there this weekend...what a fun event!
The Anglers were a blat to talk to .... really seems like they enjoy this weekend...obviously there to win, but its different than a points event!
Good time...cant wait for the Fork event in the Spring of 14 - I believe the date is in May.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Keith Combs won it. I don't remember exact weight but I know he won by like 12 pounds. I judged and absolutely had a blast. First day I was was with Randall Tharp and second was with Kelly Jordan. Both those guys were an absolute blast to spend a day on the water with. I can't wait for the one at fork.

Combs led wire to wire. I talked with him just before final "weigh-in" and he didn't really know if he had it won (I knew, but didn't say anything). One of my friends was his judge and she said the lead was really weighing heavy on him all day but he did well, getting 15 lbs the last day. (It would have taken a 30+ lb day to over take him. That could have been possible, but improbable.)
John Murray, Phoenix, AZ. came from 9th to second with 21 lbs the last day. (Murray was the last person admitted to the field I believe.) Combs had 15 lbs the last day. Combs ended with 62-12 and Murray was 12-8 behind.
