Headed to Lake Belton for the first time on Monday. Never been there before so any pointers are greatly appreciated. Would love to get into some Small Mouth since I've never caught one before but LMB, as always, will be targeted as well. I've seen some info on hazards up river near the bridge, but not much info found on fishing results. PM'S are welcome. Thanks, Billy

Rogers Park area and back south to dam. Top water bite early, then it gets tough. Shaky heads and drop shot on main lake points.

Go to Texoma instead.

I fish Belton halfway regular, a fluke is a deadly bait there. If you fish the points close to the dam you will find them. Lots of small fish though.

Stay on the lower end, there are lots of hazards on the north end due to the low lake levels. Points around the damn will get you a smallie or two.

Be sure to drain & clean your boat when you leave. News came out today of zebra mussels in belton.

It is up from Temple Lake Park, probably not an island any more, water is too low...

Is temple park a good place to launch? That's where I'm planning on going to.

You guys use cranks much on Belton?

If so what colors/size/depth?
