Bought a castaway rod with a "Short" 7.5" handle and I would prefer to have an extra inch or inch and a half. 8.5-9". Is there any way to change out the handle? I'm looking for a full cork handle.

It can be done I have changed a bunch of them you have to take the old handle off and slide a piece of a broken rod up in the blank 4-6" with epoxy on it then put another handle on. If the taper big you may have to wrap some thread around the blank at the reel seat and coat it with epoxy.

Sounds easier said than done. Is it difficult to do? And is there any website or video that can show me exactly what to do? I've never modified any rod before.
