I have a 200 Yamaha Vmax. Would any kind of debris in the air intake of the gas tank cause a problem and if so what would it act like? I noticed what looked like a small spider web or cocoon at the intake on the inside of the gunnel.

are you talking about the overflow? there is no "air intake" per se for gas tanks.

the overflow vents it so you don't overfill into the boat and prevents vacuum lock.

if this is what you mean then it could possibly but only if it is totally blocked and will not allow air in.

There are two small ports with a hole that is about the size of the end of a ball point pin. On them it says "max air intake". I am assuming these are for the gas tank. No??

+1 It uses the venturi effect to add more air into the water being pumped into your livewells.

Thanks guys for the input. I think that solves another thing. I wondered why my aerator didn't seem to be as strong.

The pro air has nothing to do with the aerator.
