Last 8 days been pretty darn good. Excellent topwater last week on pencil poppers and chugs on shallow flats near river ledges. Topwater disappeared for a few days but we got em good again Wednesday, releasing over 40 fish 7-14 lbs in addition to our limits! After topwater, been getting Moes slabs out and hunting them down on river ledges, in river channels and on flats. Some schools are finicky, but keeping after them will produce good box fish in numbers. Don't be afraid to move around to find those slab fish, they are out there. Watch for the little schoolers with birds on them, and fish under them. Been geting them on green or green and white slabs, ripping them up as fast as you can. If you are not catching them, you are not reeling fast enough! Sometimes on the fall as well. Nothing more rewarding than tricking them with artificials...THATS fishing! A few pics... Any way to share trip with someone...I would love to take my 8 year old daughter out on trip. We are staying at little mineral right now through sunday morning.
