Is it OK to reuse oil used to fry fish? If so, how should it be stored? How long?

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, โ€œI mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, thatโ€™s a storybook, man.โ€

it is ok and can be stored for as long as your comfortable however after the first use I highly suggest making sure to only ever use that oil for fish and shellfish from then on or else all other foods will have that fishy aftertaste so just keep your fish oil seperate from your basic fried food oil and you will be set

Its not about how deep you can fish but by how you wiggle your worm

You can re-use it if you didn't burn the cornmeal at bottom of frying pot. That's why the Cajun Fryer is so good, it doesn't burn the cornmeal.

Be careful to not get the oil too hot - like 400 degrees or more as it will start smoking and mess it up. I also strain it before using it again and store in jars in the refrigerator. If using canola oil, I only use it twice unless I fried very little each time.

We strain and re use oil...

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

as stated above strain it everytime and re-use. Store in a cool dry area in the winter. Summer keep it in the freezer. I use the clear frying oil in the 4.5 gallon jugs.

When I fry fish I use a lot of cayenne and black pepper with salt. Have thought about using the oil over and again,, but I know that the oil has absorbed a lot of the spice and would be way too spicy to use without making the fish too spicy to eat.
What to do about the spice buildup?

One of the wonders of using coconut oil for frying fish,it takes the heat.
Strain oil in a wire mesh strainer using a paper coffee filter while oil is still warm(user assumes all liability regarding"warm")

Get a Cajun fryer, and you can reuse the oil many times.

I prefer peanut oil as is can withstand more heat. After frying fish I always slice potatoes and fry in the same oil. They are like potato chips with salt and pepper applied after removing them from the oil.
Frying potatoes will remove the fish taste from the oil also.

Someone on here mentioned rice bran oil as being good and since so many are allergic to peanut oil, I decided to try it. Ordered it online out of Arkansas. Tried it and really like it. It is lighter, has a high burn point; even higher than peanut oil. A little, but not much more expensive than peanut oil.

you can re-use this oil not only for fish for any non-vegetarian foods.

You may already know this but When you store the oil keep it in a fairly cool place (85 or below) or the oil will turn rancid and the fish will taste lousy.
