over this past year they have had a guy on a boat knocking down purple Martin nests (could be one of worlds worst jobs). This made the martins relocate to the new bridge. The old bridge is not being used. This together with it crumbling underneath making it a safety hazard makes me think it will be demolished.

that same guy told me they are intending to demolish it when they put the new bridge in it's place. the builder has already began adding fill dirt and rock in preparation for the new bridge to go in. If you take the bridge you can also see where the road will be.

It will be sad if they demolish it. I have lots of good memories and caught many many fish lurking under the cross members.

If you look the new bridge, one side is not finished. I think they will build the other half of the new bridge over the old bridge. So they will have to destroy the old bridge to do that. Hopefully they will leave enough stumps for the crappie.

I saw workers cleaning and painting the steel on the underside of the bridge about 3 weeks ago. Wonder what that is about?
