Installed my new 998c si graphs. Also moved the HB 747c from the bow to the console. Had to run all new power wires for the 998's (12g) inline fused from the battery. Pretty stoked. Just need to use them now! First day off today in 27 days, been working some OT to pay for these.

The 1.5" RAM mount for the bow graph I already had so I decided to use it. I know swing arms or the 2.25" big ball mounts are recommended for the weight of these units but I plan on lowering the graph while running anyway. I can always step up to the plate later.

If you don't lay the display flat on the deck when navigating, that weak mount will do it for you ( I don't think you will like the results). That size mount is marginal at the console in boat wakes or waves.

Mine I got off ebay. Its a fabric type versus the common plastic weave type.

Great Install.

You can also use the plastic rod sleeves is the Chinese finger trap material that has been heated.

They do, but found it cheaper online if interested.

Updated my units to 6.74 yesterday. Today I went to Squaw Creek to test them out for the first time. Yes I'm a slacker...

Man the 998c si units are plain awesome. I didn't have much issue with the direct sunlight and screen issue must complain about.

I could see all the submerged timber and tons of bait balls. The definition was awesome compared to what I had before. Should make for a lot of fun on the water for years to come.

So you're saying the 6.7 was the best version so far?

6.74 is the only version I've used. First time out with the units.

Ahh, ok. Seems like alot of the bird guys are going back to 4.9 (or something like that) because they are having all kinds of update problems due to the new 360 & Ipilot link updates. But if its working for you then that's good.

Here's a link in case you run into troubles with that update when you get more time to use it. Pretty knowledgeable bird users here and they are having troubles with the new updates.
