The Duckett works just fine, I belly whipped 5-7 pounders with it on to the deck, and we caught many over 9 and a fewover 10 on it. All rods break it doesn't matter what they are rated for. Comfort and experience with the product is all that matters. I use that and the 7 10' KVD Quantum and ive had zero problems. 10 x is all I throw

I have been using a 7'10 St. Croix Legend Tournament-Heavy-Moderate that is rated for up to 2oz baits. It throws it really well.

Just Don't cry when the rod snaps and it WILL.
The MH 6XD rods are not Built for 10XDs or SKT Magnums... All the Manufactures will tell you that straight up.
Guess I will plug it in here now Ron at Reel time Rods builds a rod called cb907 a lot guides throw this with 10xd they have caught lots of 10 plus fish it loads and feels nicely.

The new CastAway Skeleton SKX XDD (Extreme Deep Diver) was built and designed for the BIG Crankbaits. I have been using one and it works like a dream. I had tried some of the other 7'11 and 7' 10" rods and they worked relatively ok but like the other posts said above you run the risk of snapping the rod if it gets "overloaded". I agree and have two of these rods. I also throw the 10XD with this rod: http://www.kistlerrods.com/p/fishing-rod/c-/KLXMRO711H.htmlI believe the Kistler will be the better of the two for the 8XD when it hits the market.

Save the $ and get you a BPS Crankin stick. Works fine for me anyways. KVD one is good too.

I think I'm going to throw an 10XD on one of my swimbait rods until I figure out the right rod. I've bought too many crankbait rods the last year or so I don't like. I've got 3 or 4, two dollar ish rods that are to flimsy that I don't like and use a 79 dollar BPS crankin Stick. I like the cheap crankin stick for most cranksbaits.
Thanks, Billy
