I was told this place had a Chicken Fried Steak that put Mary's in Strawn to shame? I have heard this from several people and was thinking about stopping one day on my way home from work. What says the TFF?

I live right by lucilles and usually get their wood fired pizza, seafood or steak. Their pizza's are awesome. Never had the chicken fried steak. They also have excellent martini's!!!

2 different kinds of CFS. Mary's is country fried - cooked on a griddle in a little canola oil. Lucille's is cooked in a deep fryer and has a crispier crust.
Personally, I think they are both outstanding CFS's, but if I was forced to pick one it would have to be Mary's.

So it's just a below average CFS? I think I'll stick to fixing my own. I don't understand the love of Mary's. It's really nothing to brag about.

Lucille's is pretty good as is Mary's, but neither is great.
On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?
The answer is found in Jesus Christ who said "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Mary's is great because its Mary's. I like it because its usually following up a dove hunt and they have the coldest Shiner around.

I've never eaten at Mary's, but am a fan of everything I've ever had at Lucilles, including the CFS. They have some great sandwiches and other stuff on their menu, great place to grab lunch.
