Woooooo E! I never dreamed building a catfish reel would get so many peoples panties in a wad....
Most of the catfish anglers I deal with are very glad to see a catfish specific brand like Team Catfish offered in numerous retail locations. Catfish anglers deserve a quality brand just like any other species specific tackle Co. would offer. I am very honored to build catfish tackle that catfish anglers can be proud to own. I am also very proud to offer a catfish specific brand that has all the nice looking clothing, logos, caps and catchy trademark names and such.....
I think catfish anglers deserve these things so I will continue to bring catfish specific items into the marketplace. We know we will never appeal to everyone so its no big deal if some don't buy my reel. I try to explain why it will work in some catfishing situations and ultimately catfish anglers have to make up their mind from there if its worth spending their money on....
Just so you know..... I went to great lengths on the artwork of this box to include all catfish anglers because this is truly how I feel. Please read the graphic above my signature..... Like the graphic or not it spoke volumes to tackle buyers when we have shown it to them. They also know that catfish anglers have a hard time buying catfish specific tackle.
So this leaves me to believe that there are a nice mixture of anglers on the TFF that don't care if they buy catfish specific tackle and some that that are looking for Team Catfish to build a reel that they would like to try. I will continue to speak my message and hope that enough will continue to support our brand.
This reel is put together as good as I can put one together and keep it somewhat affordable. The GOLD RING reel is made in the same country as ABU, Shimano, Quantum and every other affordable reel on the planet. Catfish anglers will not tolerate a $300 reel so I am not going to try and build one until we have manufactures that I can afford to use here in America. I wish I could find one but I can't. If you all can please let me know who it is and I will see if I can work something out with them. The GOLD RING 400 reels will retail for $139.99 and we will run a $99 special for a few weeks at TeamCatfish.com when they come in.

The photo of the box side has additional specific details about the reel that were not listed on the original post. Sorry to disappoint the experts but there is NOT MUCH PLASTIC included on this reel.... Even the star drag control is aluminum!
Gang.....The last thing I want is problems with fishing products.... No need to bring stuff to my company that we have issues with. I have worked for 3 years finding a manufacturer that I felt like I could trust. I have worked every angle of the reel with them to ensure we had as many bses covered as possible. Even the thumb bar and the power handle have a soft touch rubber feel to them.
Most that tried to tear the reel apart claiming all the plastic parts will never buy a GOLD RING reel anyway so I sincerely hope they are happy with the equipment the continue to use.
