My brother just bought a center console, him and his friends have never fished for strippers or hybrids and think all they have to do is drive to texoma and they will catch fish. Will they? Any help out there I can give them?

No..many people think all they have to do is drive there and they will catch fish.. You have to be in the right areas during the right times of year and then you have to be using the right a baits for the seasons as well. Best bet to start is to give mike (loser) oser from moe's tackle a call and load up on the baits he recommends. He is in the know and can hook ya up oon what ya need if your gonna fish artificials . Then if ya wanna bait fish..that's a whole other couple chapters

Thats what I figured. He invited me along but I knew there was more to just showing up to the right lake. Do any of you stripper/hybrid fisherman recommend lewisville tomorrow? If so what area of the lake? I am thinking about using the HellPet setup and troll for them

Try Dallas for strippers, better luck than Texoma. Stay away from the Kingston strippers on Texoma, they're Backwoods wonders

The all time best bait for strippers is a bunch of american greenbacks. The bigger the better!
Take a fish boating today!

Party cove on Lewisville can be good, but there again you have to be there at the right time. Never know when the stripper show up.

I wish it was as easy as showing up and fishing. Best bet is hire a guide (several times) and learn the ropes. I've been on two guided trips but still struggle. I think I need the "remedial" guide service for a few more years to get up to speed.
But seriously it is a good idea to use a guide.

My brother just bought a center console, him and his friends have never fished for strippers or hybrids and think all they have to do is drive to texoma and they will catch fish. Will they? Any help out there I can give them? Does he have a bait tank? Can he catch bait? Can he read a graph good? If those are answered yes, then I believe they can go down by the dam, mark fish in 70-80' of water, drop an anchor and wear them out. If he doesn't have a bait tank, than slabbing is his best option for deep fish. Again he will have to be able to read the graph to do well. We caught them good on slabs over the weekend and on top water.

I wouldn't mind taking some Strippers to Texoma and show them how and where to catch Stripers. That would be a blast.

They definently were not taking artificial baits today. Not one scale on the floor of the boat during our approx. 30 to 40 mile search. I had a good time on the water, like always. Good friends and a good Capt. that put us on some fish, but no takers. It is what it is : THAT'S FISHING
THANK YOU, JIMMY

Hire a guide first- one or two times..Learn striper fishing in that lake(TEXOMA) and where to go and what to fish with and how deep....THEN..get your boat and go get them.. My two cents..
