Could someone please tell me what the proper pad to prop shaft height is on a 1995 Blazer 202 Pro. Very hard to get on plane, not sure if it is due to too much weight in the rear or what. Bow just raises and sounds almost like its spinning out. Its a Mariner 150 with a 8" jack plate. Thanks.

Sounds like the prop hub.

Yes i had my boat set for awhile before i took it out this year. Had some carb issues that turned out to be minor, bought a ultrasonic cleaner at harbor freight and my boat is running like a champ.
This started when i upgraded trolling motors and added 2 new batteries. Right now i have 4 batteries in my boat with an onboard charger all in the rear. I have very little weight up front, a couple poles and maybe 40-50 lbs of randomness. I did not think this would be a big enough weight issue to cause this problem. I will look at the hub since that would be an easy fix.

Are the tanks full? Or have you had the same problem with less gas. 45 gallons of gas, oil tank 4 batteries equals a bunch of weight in the back plus your running a 150 on a 20 ft boat. If you only added one extra battery this year it shouldn't cause the problems your having. Weight distribution will make a big difference in how the boat handles though. If you will leave your gear in the pass rod box when your alone it will help level out. If your with a partner keep it in the center mine use to walk on me around 72 when alone until I started moving weight around.
I am also interested in seeing the 4 battery set up if your still running a oil tank.

With all of the added weight your looking at re-propping. You are having prop blowout.

Agree with Gary what prop are you running? Also what height? I have a couple props you could try to give you ideas on what to buy. I like the txp ot4 on my boat but its a 25p think you might need something lower but your welcome to try it out.

Okay. Yes i added 2 batteries this year and no oil tank, i premix. I looked at my prop this morning but there is no writing on the prop that is visible to see the size, im assuming i will have to pull it and see. I keep my boat down the road at a friends, i will swing by and see what size it is.

what prop do you have??
if it's a 4 blade and you added all that weight. you may just be bogging the engine now. need to pull out some pvs plugs (if you have a trophy plus)

No pvs holes on prop. Prop specs read 23 3/4 x 26. When pulling the prop i noticed the prop spines closest to the engine side were slightly bent. Im going to go on a limb here and say thats not mormal? I have a pic but can't get it uploaded. Appreciate the responses.
