....But, can you make jigs from dog fur? I was thinking of starting to tie my own jigs, and before I spent a ton of money in supplies, I want to make sure I'll enjoy it. I have an endless supply of dog fur (I own a dog grooming salon) and was looking at a shih tzu and thought, why wouldn't that work....? Please don't laugh if this is a ridiculous question. I have no idea how to tie a jig, other than what I've seen on YouTube. Thanks for any input

+1 It's not a silly question at all. I looked at everything when I first started, feather dusters, pet hair, my hair, my wife's clothes and jewelry. In the end, I found it better for all involved, that I buy my supplies.

My Maltese runs when she sees I have scissors in my hand!! It can be done!! Hahahahahahahaha! That's awesome!!!!! Glad to hear that it can be done and I'm not crazy! Just tied my first one...it's not pretty at all. But hey, it's a learning thing Hope to be half as good as y'all one day

I'll take a pic tonight when I get home. Didn't think it was pic worthy... I used a feather I got from my African grey (she lost it I didn't pull it) and some wool for the body. But I'll post it tonight.
It's really bad lol!

 I dyed some of the hair red. I don't have a vise, so I just held them when I tied them. Like I said, not pic worthy.

Other than the body on the bottom one being a bit long, they look pretty good. If you tied the top one without a vise, I'm impressed.
Heck, I didn't start buying feathers until I ran out of chest hair.

After I got done with it, I noticed it was really long. I don't have a vise. Or a whip finisher, I think it's called....? I think I'll be investing in proper materials and equipment in a month or so.
