If your using a uni to tie to leader it's called a uni to uni double uni is line directly to bait

Palomar. Then I tie an overhand knot with the tag end before cutting it off to keep it from slipping. But...I've never had one slip.

I also tie a Palomar with fluorocarbon. I always get the line wet and pull it down very slowly and evenly. I also make sure it is tight.

I think most "knot failure" is due to operator error.

I use the San Diego Jam for my line to lure knot and a modified albright for tying on leaders.

I started playing around with this knot. It has not slipped on me yet and once you get use to tying it, it ties pretty quick!

I use an improved clinch knot...and I burn the tag line off with my cigarette...keeps it from slipping...

The double Palomer is money...quick, easy and nearly unbreakable.....I have pulled branches out of trees or had to cut the line if snagged too badly....
