25" Hybrid- heavy fish!.kept two sand bass 14" and 15" at RC.Caught them on shad..in deep drop off with current I found by accident..ok.. At daylight early morning bite was pretty good...sun up it shut totally down..went home Ice fish down, get ready and leave for work.. Yesterday...(Sunday)walked the creek a little..watched a gentleman with a fly rod..throwing a clouser minnow white/chartreuse...in a spot at RC ---I found the depth at by accident---.He would watch Hybrids surface, hit wounded shad/minnows on the surface..throw to the swirl in the water and the fish would BAM/SLAM that clouser!I watched him land and release several very nice Hybrids and sand bass..There were guys fishing around the area of him not catching much-- if any --and he was out fishing them hands down..wow! That was pretty cool to watch..That made a good day and I went home.

Question..........
Where is HH physically. Not planning on adding to the crowd but I walk the creek since it is close to my house. I do see some areas that are really tough to reach without a rope and twisted ankle but I like to see folks catching fish and would like to see the action.
Typically fish at RC by my house in Rowlett and caught CC and LMB but none of the others. Seem some big gar but this HH sounds really interesting

Is the run over? Stopped by for an hour with my 20ft surf rod, 50# braid, using cut sardines. Not one bite. Air pressure was 31.10

I ,or the guy fly fishing was not at the HH, or any where close to it. Where I and fly fishing guy was at, you get a good rope tie to a tree and drop down the side embankment to the water..when you are ready to leave..climb back up and you go..easy. I'm 53 and I can do it. Its all in the rope..thin --skinny--ski rope..No way you going to make it back up again..Large to med anchor rope you can hang on to and handle , or rappelling rope and no problems up or down. I do my watching by walking the bank and looking in the water from above in the shade trees..wear a hat right now to keep the %$#$%&& bagworms from falling in your hair.. HH...drive east on Firewheel pkwy..cross bridges over RC...START SLOWING WAY DOWN while crossing bridge cause now you are going to bump the curb right side and park in the dirt field parking area...park and walk follow path south to all the trash and people in one spot about 100 yards from parking area.CAUTION IF IT HAS BEEN RAINING...it is all dirt parking area that does and will turn into slop when wet..you may not get in or out if raining before or after rain..so park at bike park on cement and walk north. HH is not the only place to fish in RC..Close to parking with access but not the best place to fish.

Air pressure was 31.10 Before and at daylight If you want to catch hybrids and a lot of sand bass..They will bite later..they need to eat..bite is not very good later in the day or not at all. (surf rod and 50#braid line with sardines,,Your funny!) light weight rod.4 lb mono line.spinning reel. 'live' shad free lined or with split shot 18" above med-small snell hook..SET DRAG med LOOSE and let fish run and you are good to go..!

All the sand bass and Hybrids are on their way back to the main lake now if not there already. With this rain coming in tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night the creek will rise and help flush the rest of them back into lake Ray Hubbard.

Well, it was good while it lasted. Today was probably the last time I go out there. Luckily, I manage to put my younger brother to his first hybrid EVER.
