This lake is so addictive to me probably from all the trips my father took me there and the great friends I have made there. My friend had a 100 fish day Wed we went Thursday again, launched at Lowes about 1pm, the wind just kept getting stronger as it always seems to, the new drift sock works great, we threw everything we had and I caught all mine on a chartruse/orange RoadRunner jig, they were is the shallow water in the washboard area SE of the Willis Bridge in 2-3 ft of water, all fish caught shallow. I had 5 hits and 1 fish out of the 1st 6 casts, some gull activity late in the evening, we had them all to ourselves, not another boat insight. Water temp was 65.3 There was some surface activity in the area out of the wind. We did find a sunken boat with the side scan close to the marina. We are going back 4 days next week, I cant get enough of this lake! Only a few double digits this trip, cant wait to get back next week. This recent cold front pushed back the bite another week I am afraid.
FYI: Gas prices in Pottsboro are still $3.03 to $3.09, diesel $3.49. The new Brookshire Store is open now with some of the best gas prices and easy to get in and out of with a trailer.

I know what you mean about addictive. I grew up fishing that lake with my dad too!

I thought Preston Fishing Camp was our 2nd home. The memory with my father catching the 20+# fish regular still is there and all the pictures I have with him, all that was before the big flood, our best area was West Burns Run and I seldom ever hear it mentioned anymore and then Bill Carey's Striper Alley and Sand Bass Pass out from Lowes HiPort. I've only made it Texoma twice this year and the majority of my fish came from West Burns Run. My bigger fish came from washita Point.

Thanks for the Report. I love hearing about "Big Tex". Fished the last two weekends in the "redneck pontoon" near the willis bridge. Not much luck but I'm catching on to the lake again. Thanks again.
