been showing this to a few people and they were astounded...one guy suggested I send it in to some mags...what are yalls thoughts? Take note as to how this fish was hooked. Went right at 9 on the scale....sharp hooks are a mans best friend

I caught an 11 in the tail also. So I know how u feel about the sharp hooks. I still catch grief over it from my buddy. He still swears it shouldn't count

this girl hit on the mexican side of Falcon....was there and line went slack then like a freight train she took off....peeled drag so fast I thought I had a gar or carp. when I worked her to the top I saw she was hooked in the tail, but didnt know it was a bass until i lifted more of the tail out of the water and saw her lateral line...after a ginger game of tug-o-war I was able to get her boatside and lipped.

if you hooked it, it counts.

Are we allowed to keep foul hooked fish? The regulations aren't exactly clear: "It is unlawful to take or attempt to take fish with one or more hooks attached to a line or artificial lure used in a manner to foul-hook a fish (snagging or jerking). A fish is foul-hooked when caught by a hook in an area other than the fish�s mouth".

Seems like they say it's unlawful if you rig it with the intention to foul hook. But what if it's a single hook setup and the fish was foul hooked accidentally?

Had a 35lb carp that I somehow hooked in the dorsal fun with a t-rigged worm and that was one brack of a fight!!

Out of the mouth rule applied to the world record in Calf. when it was caught. He didn't want to go through all the fuss or be accused of snagging the Bass with the jig; so they released her.
He and his friend have both caught the same fish over the years and will probably catch her again.

That's a California law. In Texas its not legal to "intentionaly" snag a bass but state law says it's ok to foul hook a bass if not done on purpose.
